What a great Thai restaurant! I took the advice of other reviewers and got the papaya salad, crispy squid with basil and drunken noodles. The papaya salad had a nice little kick with the spice, which I enjoyed. And the squid was delicious.
Honestly, this restaurant is a little far from where I live, and since there are comparable Thai restaurants close to me, I probably won't be able to come often. But if I am in the Arlington area, I will definitely come back, and do recommend it highly. -

This is the only place you can order beef Basil and get the real deal. Don't try spring Rolls , you will turn into
Spring Roll crack head. We order 20 every time
To keep at home -

Thai Square is some of the best Thai I've ever had. So far, this is my 5th visit and I have never tried something that wasn't outstanding.
First of all for the size of the portions, I would say you get a lot of bang for your buck. The waiters are attentive and friendly. The restaurant is very clean as well.
So this time I tried the chive dumplings. Super interesting , I've never had something like them. They were fried and square shape. They were a great combo of salty, garlic-y, crispy, chive-y goodness. Almost the consistency of fried tofu. They came with a sweet, spicy chili dipping sauce. I was so curious, I looked up a recipe online and I think the ingredient that makes them such an interesting chewy texture is tapioca starch.
We got veggie spring rolls. Perfectly crispy with glass noodles and veggies on the inside.
And our last appetizer was the green papaya salad (somtum) this salad is spicy, but mouthwateringly addicting, even as It burned my mouth I couldn't stop eating it. I don't even like papaya, and this really doesn't taste like regular papaya. It's also weirdly refreshing and light despite being so spicy. Oh and crush peanuts for Added texture. I've ordered this salad every time I come. Amazing.
For my entree I ordered the drunken noodles with chicken for the first time. The noodles were fat and had a comforting texture. Just a hint of basil. yum!
Their sticky rice mango is also delicious, but a little less sweet than other versions I've had. Still the mango was perfectly ripe and sweet -

After one visit with our closest friend it's immediately became our currently favorite spot (ESP..) for the real Papaya salad (with crab not the Regular Thai style) that reminds us a lot back home (Not exactly but close).
Each time we came, never feel disappointed at all. Their food has so much strong flavor in a good way. They have plenty of food choices and what I like is that the pictures that come along with the menu. Sometimes you do feel like you need pictures to guide you what kinda food it looks like isn't it? Anw, besides great food, staffs are also very nice and friendly. The decorations are so cute with all those Thai traditions/more. Parking are just a bit pain in the butt.
Overall experience, it's so worth your time/ effort and everything. If you wanna try the closest real Thai food I do recommend this place. -

Even on a Wednesday night it's packed. I come here too much that I recognize one of the waitresses when i ran into her at another restaurant. The best Thai restaurant for classic Thai food with some twist in the menu offering. I have introduced this to all my friends and everyone raves about this place.
Here you can find your Thai food typically offered in Thai restaurants such as curries, pad Thai, drunken noodles, etc. However, while those are good, the gems are in the more unique dishes. By unique I don't mean Padeak menu (another top fav of mine!). But they are not seen often in other Thai restaurant and the flavor is more bold yet still enjoyable for the less adventurous eaters :)
- floating market beef noodles soup: #1 favorite. It tastes a little similar to pho but this is spices and herbs on steroid. Extremely flavorful, tons of meat, veggies, spices.
- crispy squid with basil: the food is exactly like its name. Plus the slightly sweet glazing with a little kick and fried garlic! Not too much batter on the squids which i like. Bomb.
- crab fried rice: big pieces of crab meat. The best fried rice you will ever eat in a restaurant around here. My friends kept obsessing over this throughout their meals.
- drunken noodles: not unique but they do this very well!
- larb kai (minced meat salad): very good but if you don't like strong fish sauce vinegary smell do not order this!
I also tried their curries and pad thai in the past. They are very good but do not stand out like the dishes above. So if you come here, don't stick to your typical curries, try something new :)
Thai tea is yummy but pricey for a small glass (like every other Thai restaurant..)
The restaurant recently remodeled so it's new and cute! Service is fast and if you don't know what to get, the waitress' recommendations are worth checking out.
